Of particular interest are the individual correspondence files; <span class=\"persname\">Richard Pleasant's</span> files provide a view of the <span class=\"persname\">Mordkin Ballet's</span> day-to-day business as well as <span class=\"persname\">Pleasant's</span> developing vision of a repertory ballet company involving artists and writers in addition to dancers. Also of interest are the files for <span class=\"persname\">Lucia Chase</span>, <span class=\"persname\">Rudolf Orthwine</span>, <span class=\"persname\">Mikhail Mordkin</span>, and <span class=\"persname\">Mikhail Mordkin, Jr.</span> The collection contains very little actually written by <span class=\"persname\">Mikhail Mordkin</span>, except for a few notes (mostly in Russian to <span class=\"persname\">Lucia Chase</span>). However, correspondence in the files for both <span class=\"persname\">Richard Pleasant</span> and <span class=\"persname\">Mikhail Mordkin, Jr.</span> reveals <span class=\"persname\">Mikhail Mordkin's</span> relationship to the company, particularly during the months leading up to the severance with Advanced Arts Ballets, Inc. in 1939.</p>"}
