{"value"=>"<p>This sub-series contains files pertaining to the White Barn Foundation and the history of the theater. Files are then arranged chronologically and span the years, 1947-1999. The history file contains architectural plans and prints of the theater. Included in the general year files are: production fliers, correspondence (arranged chronologically), \"Dear Subscriber\" letters, apprentice announcements, press releases, subscriber/mailing lists, and general clippings. The 30th anniversary booklet can be found in 1978, and the 50th anniversary booklet in 1997. The booklets provide complete production details for the years 1947-1997. In 1951 the White Barn Theatre began The Summer Apprentice School, under the direction of Albert Dickason, in which students were taught set design, acting, voice and dance, and performed in their own apprentice shows at the theater. To further the training of young talent, Eva Le Gallienne started a seminar series for advanced students and young professional actors, among them Mariette Hartley and Peter Falk. Over the years other teachers, including Jean Erdman, Martha Schlamme, Herbert Machiz, Valerie Bettis, Marcella Cisney, Michael Olatunji, and Judd Mathison, came to teach dance, acting and production classes to the students.</p>"}
