Produced by Oscar Serlin, Washington Square opened on January 23, 1947 at the Shubert Theatre in New Haven and closed at the Colonial Theatre in Boston on February 1, 1947. There is also a published libretto, clippings, and a program for Washington Square, an opera version of the Henry James's novel with a libretto by Kenward Elmslie and music by Thomas Pasatieri, as well as a program and a clipping for a musical version by Jerome Walman and Kenneth Jerome produced at the Washington Theater Club, Washington, D.C. in March, 1972.
