{"value"=>"<p>This consists of a collection of letters from Nell Dorr, notable photographer and childhood friend of Lillian Gish. The letters are very personal and speak of family and professional happenings as well as her innermost feelings.. Of special note in this series is a significant number of letters written by Lillian Gish to <span class=\"persname\">Nell Dorr</span> during the years 1909 until 1925. These letters contain much information on the early life and career of Lillian Gish. Lillian Gish referred to Nell Dorr as \"her older sister\" and signed her letters to Nell as \"Puty\" which was a shortened form of \"Lilyputs\" a name given her by her sister Dorothy. Also included are letters written by <span class=\"persname\">Minnie Becker</span>, the mother of Nell Dorr and <span class=\"persname\">Virginia Koons</span>, the daughter of Nell Dorr. Virginia Koons letters are written to both Lillian and <span class=\"persname\">Mae Gish</span>.</p>"}
