Though incomplete, these records suggest the sophistication of the procedures employed to track the influx of merchandise and materials imported from foreign countries. Entry forms listing all goods imported for construction, exhibition, consumption and sale can be found with the dossiers. These inventories not only provide information on duties paid, net worth, dates of shipping and names of vessels, but through the range of materials -- from concrete to precious gemstone -- demonstrate in detail the building of the pavilions and exhibits by the foreign participants.
