Consequently, his records capture many aspects of the activities of the six departments and the dozen sub-units that comprised the Treasury Division. Included here is information on the preparation of statements and audited reports; the management of accounting activities; budget and expenditure analyses activites; the handling of gate and concessionaires' receipts; disbursement of payroll; and insurance coverage transactions. Though chiefly confined to financial considerations, correspondence and memoranda do occasionally yield information on matters related to legal, promotional and operational activities. Examples of this can be found in the concessions and exhibits files. These include a suit brought by Margaret Mitchell against the Gay New Orleans concessionaires for their unauthorized use of characters from Gone with the Wind in their Amusement-Area entertainment; abundant promotional material on the Boy Scouts of America, including a poster announcing an event featuring an address by J. Edgar Hoover; and correspondence from disgruntled Cavalcade of Centaurs producer John Ringling North, who takes Pach to task for what he construes as the general mismanagement of the Fair. Daily reports provide a detailed summary of the number of tickets sold, revenue and expenses, status of outstanding loans and the weather. Because fluctuations in the weather had implications for attendance and revenue, rain fall and temperature were vigilantly monitored; the insurance files address this topic in a careful analysis of the merits of obtaining rain and hail coverage. These files also offer accounts of instances of Fairgrounds fires and their associated claims. Revenue Control Specimen Tickets contain abundant samples of individual tickets and booklets issued by the Fair. In addition to standard admission tickets in a variety of colors, graphic motifs and denominations, these include tickets for specific exhibits, events and special days.</p>"}
