Largely procedural, the files include correspondence with many prominent American artists, national museums, arts associations and galleries. The purchase fund file includes short biographies of several artists. Publicity materials include a descriptive tour of the exhibition. An issue of the journal Parnassus features an article by department director Holger Cahill and a review of the Masterpieces of Art exhibit. The 1940 records reflect the activities of Olive Lyford, coordinator of art activities on the fairgrounds. The file on sculpture deals solely with the removal of work at the close of the Fair.
