{"value"=>"<p>Osgood Field was born in 1823 in New York to Moses Field and Susan Kittredge Osgood Field. His mother was the daughter of Samuel Osgood, a Massachusetts representative to the Continental Congress and the first Postmaster General of the United States. He moved to London in the 1840s to conduct the family's business affairs, and lived there until the 1890s when he moved to Rome. He married Katharine Roxana Parker Field in 1880. In Rome the Fields lived in Palazzo Colonna and were leaders of American society.</p> <p>Field was the family historian and genealogist. He spent years researching the histories of the Field, Bowne, and Osgood families and many other interrelated families. He compiled his research into <span class=\"title\">The Fields of Sowerby near Halifax, England, and of Flushing, New York</span> which was published in 1895.</p>"}
