{"value"=>"<p>The World Trade Center, a complex of seven buildings including the iconic twin towers, was operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. Baum was hired as a consultant when the Port Authority put out a call for bids to create and manage food service operations for the buildings. Inhilco, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hilton International, was selected. Baum served as President of Inhilco during the planning stages and early operating years. He and his associated developed a complex of 35 restaurants in eleven locations. The dining establishments included The Big Kitchen (an early food court), Cellar-in-the-Sky (a wine bar), the Hors d'Oeuvrerie, and Windows on the World, renowned for its views of Manhattan from the top floor of the North Tower. After the 1993 bombing at the WTC, Baum and Whiteman renovated the restaurants for the 1996 reopening.</p>"}
