Recordings include oral history interviews that Horne conducted as part of research into subjects such as the life of Ferdinand Smith, a Jamaican trade unionist and co-founder of the National Maritime Union (NMU); the Japanese occupation of Hong Kong during World War II; and the South West Africa People's Organisation (SWAPO Party of Namibia), a Namibian independence movement and later a political party.
