{"value"=>"
Subseries III.B. contains extensive composition notes, mostly handwritten, and hundreds of recordings that cannot be identified as relating to a single or specific composition. This subseries reveals Amacher's work process, specifically how she kept notes about her compositions, and presents a core set of audio and video recordings from throughout her career that she used for composition work and other projects. Amacher often utilized or reimagined the same materials for various projects, and owing to inconsistent labeling, it is likely that some materials here relate to her multimedia installations in series I, collaborations and performances in series II, or unrealized projects in series IV. This subseries is arranged into two groups, Notes and Recordings, and arranged alphabetically within each group. Original titles for notes and recordings are maintained, with a substantial set of untitled notes from the 1960s through the 2000s ordered at the beginning of the alphabetical notes listing; and unidentified recordings grouped at the end of the alphabetical recordings listing.

Many of the composition notes directly correspond to recordings. Files labeled \"Audio Notes,\" \"Tape Notes,\" \"Video Notes,\" \"Video Logs,\" \"Video Production\" and \"Video Recording\" are numerous, likely referencing specific recordings held here. However, due to inconsistent labeling, it is not always clear which recordings the notes refer to. There are other notes that were not filed with the recordings, but which are titled similarly or identically to recordings held in this subseries. Among these titles are \"Slow Rises,\" \"Phena,\" \"Banff Centre for the Arts,\" and \"Phase Space.\"

A large number of composition notes date from the 1990s and 2000s, which are occasionally accompanied by scores. These files typically document technical processes such as equalization, data backups, mixing, and tuning as they relate to recording. Of special interest is a file labeled \"Pro Tools and PCM,\" which contains notes on Amacher's early Pro Tools recordings. Amacher printed her Pro Tools file directory screen, which she heavily annotated with handwritten notes and various colored highlighters.

These recordings originate from the entirety of Amacher's career. Most recordings are listed individually, but some are grouped under a common name assigned by Amacher. A few of these groupings hold many recordings, namely \"R.S. Sat. M\" (dated 1988), \"Master Structures,\" \"Muse,\" \"TU Mod,\" and \"Furnace Room Tapes.\"
"}
