{"value"=>"
The Music For Sound-Joined Rooms files date from 1978 to 2006, and compile recordings, notes, images, and project descriptions from Amacher's second major ongoing multimedia installation. There is one group of files that contains photograph lists, proposals, and descriptions that address Music For Sound-Joined Rooms more generally, but the rest of the subseries is grouped by the specific installation name and/or location, and arranged chronologically.

There are notably fewer recordings for Music For Sound-Joined Rooms than City-Links and Mini-Sound Series. While recordings and paper materials have been grouped together when both are present, there are a few installations with no identifiable recordings. Since Amacher often reused and repurposed older recordings for new projects, it is possible there are recordings in series II or III that were used for Music For Sound-Joined Rooms, but were not titled in a manner that connects them to a particular installation. It is also likely these recordings were used again in a subsequent project and not attributed to their original use.

There are many files from Research and Development, which are identified as being a part of the Music For Sound-Joined Rooms installation. This includes project descriptions, drafts, notes, slides, negatives, photocopied images, contact sheets, and recordings. There are also notebooks present from the Research and Development installations in both Vienna, Austria and Lugano, Switzerland. The Research and Development recordings are grouped together with the files from the city in which each piece of media is attributed. While there are a number of recordings labeled as being from Minneapolis, Minnesota, it is possible these were utilized again in Vienna, Austria; Lugano, Switzerland; and Berlin, Germany.

Many files originate from A Step Into It: Imagining 1001 Years at Kunsthalle in Krems, Austria in 1995. Held here are project descriptions, notes, agendas and schedules, agreements, budget lists, technical needs sheets, scores, designs, and slides. Additionally, there are several recordings that are clearly indicated as being part of this installation.
"}
