These themes are addressed again and again in general policy memoranda as well as in notes to editors and reporters dealing with specific articles and in correspondence with readers who, while criticizing specific articles, expressed more general views about the <span class=\"title\">Times</span> or questioned the policies underlying some particular type of coverage. Of special interest: AMR's and Max Frankel's memoranda to AOS on fairness and objectivity, and how the News and Sunday Departments deal with them in the editing process (Dec. 1974).
