The correspondence deals mostly with Markel's suggestions for news stories and his criticism of articles, as well as his research and articles about the press. Copies of a few of his articles are included. While AMR and Markel clearly admired each other greatly, their differences of opinion and management style are documented in many of these letters, as is Markel's disappointment at being on the sidelines.</p>"}
