{"value"=>"
This subseries, dating from a 1995 article in The Statesman about Ashapurna Debi's oeuvre, to the afterword for Alessandro Manzoni's The Betrothed in 2022, chronicles Lahiri's publishing process for her standalone work, anthology pieces, reviews, and short fiction published in literary journals. Short fiction pieces in this subseries include works that would later be included in story collections Interpreter of Maladies or Unaccustomed Earth. A small amount of relevant correspondence and supplementary research materials are also present in this subseries.

Drafts, galley proofs, and final revisions comprise the bulk of this subseries. Works were published in Food & Wine, Allure, The New Yorker, Semicerchio, and Tuttolibri. Numerous drafts of articles written for D di Repubblica, the weekly women's supplement of Italian newspaper Repubblica, are also present. Many materials feature extensive autograph annotations by Lahiri and editors.

Also present are multiple annotated drafts, galley prints, proofs, and related ephemera of contributions by Lahiri in 2008's State by State, The Suspension of Time: Reflections on Simon Dinnerstein and The Fulbright Triptych in 2011, and The Book of Everything: Eighteen Artists, Writers and Thinkers on James Joyce's Ulysses in 2022.

This subseries holds annotated drafts of introductions and afterwords for several works, including photographer Xavier Zimardo's India Holy Song; the New York Book Review's 2009 Mavis Gallant anthology, The Cost of Living; and Brahma's Weapon by Ashapurna Debi in 2013.
"}
