She also volunteers with people serving long state prison sentences.</p> <p>Yonette Grogan filed a lawsuit against Rikers Island after being assaulted by an officer while visiting the jail.</p> <p>James Young III, a Bronx native, was incarcerated at Rikers Island from age fourteen to seventeen. He now runs a Bronx organization educating young teenagers.</p> <p>Gennady Yusim, or Mr. G, a volunteer debate teacher at Rikers Island, was locked down for five hours after an escape attempt.</p>"}
