Morford briefly describes other gay organizations formed in the New York City area after World War II. He also discusses efforts to get literature with gay themes into bookstores; attempts to change police policies toward gays; and contacts with the NAACP. Side B of the tape is a recording of the audio segment of a Dick Cavett television show, dated November 27, 1970. This features an interview with gay activists, who discuss the goals of the of gay movement and the purpose of the Mattachine Society. They also explain the reasons they view homosexuality as a basis for personal identity.</p>"}
