{"value"=>"<p>Rabbi Hailu Moshe Paris (1933-2014) was born in Ethiopia and adopted by Eudora Paris, a follower of the Barbadian Rabbi Arnold Josiah Ford, one of Harlem's Hebrew Israelite leaders. Paris was raised in New York City. He was a graduate of Yeshiva University and taught the Talmud and Ethiopian history in the Israelite Rabbinical Academy. He was head rabbi at the Mount Horeb E.H. Congregation in the Bronx as well as rabbi emeritus at Beth Shalom in Brooklyn; two Black Hebrew Israelite congregations. He advocated for the legitimacy of Black Jews and served as a bridge that connected Ethiopian Jews with African American Jews.</p>"}
