Correspondence, libretto and stageplay drafts, contracts, photographs, publicity notes, and press materials from Proulx's stage and screen adaptations are also held in this subseries.</p> <p>Of particular note are the materials created and collected by Proulx during the production of the <span class=\"title\">Brokeback Mountain</span> film, such as notes on filming logistics and castings, photographs of the screening event; correspondence with Ang Lee, Larry McMurtry, and Diana Ossana; and a letter by Proulx to the cast and crew of the movie.</p> <p>Notebooks are diaristic in nature but can also include early drafts of short story or novel ideas. Proulx frequently laid-in items such as pamphlets, brochures, photographs, and scrap notes into her notebooks, journals, and books.</p> <p>Proposals, outlines, and drafts of nonfiction articles, essays, and books, including freelance magazine work done by Proulx in the 1980s and several \"how-to\" gardening and cooking publications are held in this series. Four academic theses completed by Proulx while she was a history student at the University of Vermont and George Williams University are also present.</p>"}
