{"value"=>"<p>Page proofs for the first edition, with corrections to the poems \"La Saisiaz\" and \"The Two Poets of Croisic.\" The proofs were sent to Browning by the printer Spottiswoode in two batches, the first on 23 March 1878 and the second on 1 April, according to attached proof tickets. Browning made 40 corrections, only 23 of which are substantive, the remaining 17 involving such things as inserting missing page numbers and deleting ink smudge. Bound without the preliminary matter in brown levant morocco by Zaehnsdorf. Inserted are four letters from Browning to George Barnett Smith dated 11 December 1873, 18 June 1883, 26 December 1883, and 11 August 1889 (MISC 0717-20).
