Mbaqanga is a style of South African music with rural Zulu roots; it originated in the early 1960s and blends traditional African vocal styles and melodies with European and American popular music. Mbuli is known as \"The People's Poet,\" among other names. He has been detained various times for his poetry and this record was banned until mid-1990. This recording is an incomplete version of the album.</p>"}
