{"value"=>"<p>This subseries consists of programs, fliers, and posters from 1946 to 2016, ordered chronologically. As with the clippings, these materials provide a nearly complete timeline of Charlip's career; a printed list of Charlip's activities for every year from 1946 to 1993 are filed in corresponding folders. Correspondence and notes may accompany the programs and fliers as well. A handful of Charlip's awards and certificates, from 1943 to 2004, are filed after the chronological listing.</p> <p>Series IV contains Charlip's designs and original artwork for some of the printed programs, fliers, and posters held here.</p> <p>Highlights of this subseries include a Cooper Union Art School program with a photograph of Charlip dating from 1946; a 1951 Jean Erdman Dance Company program for a performance featuring Charlip, Merce Cunningham, and Lou Harrison; Merce Cunningham Dance Company programs from the 1950s, some of which Charlip designed; many programs and fliers for the Paper Bag Players from the 1960s created by Charlip; programs for performances by the international dance companies Charlip worked with during the 1970s; and fliers for workshops he conducted in San Francisco during the late 1980s and 1990s.</p> <p>Few posters are in the subseries. Most date from the 1990s and 2000s, and are for events that featured Charlip in capacities as a performer, honoree, director, or choreographer. Posters are noted in the container list.</p> <p>The certificates and awards include Charlip's junior high school, high school, and college diplomas; Alexander Technique certification; various book awards; and a 1966 Obie award for <span class=\"title\">A Beautiful Day</span>. Additional certificates and awards may be filed with the programs and fliers.</p>"}
