{"value"=>"<p>Charlip's choreography comprises this subseries, which dates from the 1960s to the 2000s. Held here are Charlip's original choreography drawings and corresponding photocopies for a wide variety of dance pieces, including dozens of Air Mail Dances. This subseries is arranged alphabetically by title, with unidentified choreography ordered at the beginning.</p> <p>While Charlip's choreography could be considered artwork, it is filed separately from the artwork in series IV, which contains poster and program designs, and sketches and illustrations of figures and scenes.</p> <p>Most dance pieces are represented by Charlip's original chorography illustrations, usually in pencil, pen, or marker. Sometimes multiple drafts are present, with different titles and on different size paper. Most dance pieces, especially those in boxes 10 through 13, feature photocopies of Charlip's choreography. Occasional notes (and in some cases, written instructions) accompany the drawings. The unidentified choreography ordered at the beginning may contain duplicates of dance pieces elsewhere in the subseries.</p> <p>Air Mail Dances make up a large portion of this subseries. There are photocopies of Charlip's first Air Mail Dance, \"Instructions from Paris\" sent to Nancy Lewis. Other prominent Air Mail Dances include \"Alone Some and Twosome,\" \"Dance in a Bed,\" \"Dance with Three Steps,\" \"Flowering Trees,\" \"Garden Lilacs,\" \"Kitty Tango,\" \"Towel Dance for 300,\" \"Underwater Ballet,\" and \"Wooloomooloo Cuddle.\" This subseries also holds large multicolored drawings of \"Apart and Together,\" \"Cloud Dances,\" \"Doorway Dance,\" \"Energy Dances,\" and \"Red Towel Dance.\" The file for \"The Potato Couch and Other Fun House Dances,\" an interactive exhibition at Kidspace Children's Museum, contains several Air Mail Dances.</p> <p>In addition, this subseries features Charlip's original choreography drawings for <span class=\"title\">Ludwig and Lou</span>, along with printed versions in various colors that were used for programs and merchandise. Also present are files on \"39 Chinese Attitudes,\" \"Beethoven's Contra Dances,\" \"Internal Dance Number One,\" and <span class=\"title\">Ten Imaginary Dances</span>.</p>"}
