Begins, \"Mary!! ten chequer'd years have pass'd, / Since we beheld each other last …\" Pratt notes that the identity of the Mary named in the poem is \"a mystery.\" Apparently Mary Evans saw the poem in the Morning Post for 20 October 1803, erroneously assumed that it was Coleridge's and addressed to her, and copied it. Her copy follows exactly the text in the Morning Post, except for the omission of the last three stanzas. See Griggs for more on the papers of Mary Evans held by the Pforzheimer Collection.</p>"}
