{"value"=>"<p>Copied in the hand of Samuel Taylor Coleridge and here titled \"On Bala Hill.\" Begins, \"With many a weary step at length I gain;\" one of three poems transcribed in a group of leaves and sent by Coleridge to his first love Mary Evans any time between July and December 1794. First published as Coleridge's in Poetical Works (1893), but a variation of the poem was published in Robert Southey's Poems (1797) as \"Sonnet VIII.\" Apparently, Southey sent the poem to Coleridge in early September 1794. Coleridge changed Southey's \"Lansdown\" to \"Bala\" but never actually claimed the poem as his own. See the Samuel Taylor Coleridge manuscript material finding aid for related entries.</p>"}
