{"value"=>"<p>The Napanoch Brothers was the collective name given to inmates at the Eastern Correctional Facility in Napanoch (Ulster County, New York) who participated in a prison uprising in 1977. Among their demands were the firing of two guards known to have ties to the Ku Klux Klan, a decent mess hall diet and sanitary eating facilities, the passage of \"good time\" measures, and amnesty for all involved in the protest. The hostages were released after authorities agreed to demands, however forty-three of the inmate leaders were charged with a variety of crimes stemming from this.</p>"}
