{"value"=>"<p>The North Carolina subseries consists of material related to the extensive campaigning efforts that the Alliance undertook in this state. The Alliance focused on North Carolina as a way to counter the 1970s narrative that the state was emblematic of the \"New South\" where oppression was no longer an issue. In particular the Alliance concerned itself with two large cases, that of the Wilmington Ten and the Charlotte Three, the details of which are covered extensively in the Case Files series. The Alliance also concerned itself with the unfair labor practices of the textile industry throughout the state, which mostly victimized Black Americans. This subseries includes local contact information, essays on the state, press materials, and materials from rallies that the Alliance organized throughout the state and to Washington, DC on behalf of the state.</p>"}
