This series consists of Harlem residents, as well as individuals from outside the community. Notable among the Harlem weddings photographed is that of former New York City mayor David N. Dinkins and Joyce Burrows in 1953.</p> <p>The series is a mixture of both black and white and color photographs, and includes portraits of the bride and groom; individual portraits of brides; bridal parties; prenuptial bridal preparations; views of ceremonies; wedding guests; and receptions.</p>"}
