The notebook contains two different handwritings, and appears to have been used for four different purposes: Circuit Execution Docket, 1825 (title on one side of notebook), with the heading: \"State and City Taxes of Sundry Persons to be attended to,\" 1833-1834, includes names of individuals, with numerous references to enslaved people as property; Memorandum (title on outside of other side of the notebook) containing list of clients (15pgs); \"Business to be attended to in New York in October 1834,\" including list of items, many personal; \"Georgetown Execution Docket\" with information written in a third hand; no reference to Blacks.</p>"}
