{"value"=>"<p>Legal (deeds) and financial (mortgages and other contract) papers for property in Brooklyn, N.Y. owned by William and Rosena Rennix, and two maps of the property prepared by the city surveyors. Included is a notebook containing a memoir written by Rennix, in which he writes about leaving his homeland (which he does not name) in 1872 to travel to various Caribbean islands and arriving in the U.S. in 1877. He then details his travels around the eastern U.S. and jobs held. The notebook also contains poems or stories, and accounts of expenditures. [The memoirs and poems/stories have been copied by the donor]. Also, in the collection is an obituary for William H. Rennix (1889-1935), the son of William Rennix, and his citizenship papers, 1894.</p>"}
