The clippings are primarily articles highlighting African American artists, including W.E. Braxton, Mabel Randolph Brooks, Richard Lonsdale Brown, Aaron Douglas, Palmer C. Hayden, Sargent Johnson, and O. Richard Reid. Coverage also includes notices of shows and exhibits, reviews of shows and exhibits, and awards won by African American artists. There are several articles about African American architects included as well. These scrapbooks include many flyers and programs for both Harlem and New York City based art exhibits, including clippings noting exhibits at the 135th St. branch of the New York Public Library (later the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture).</p>"}
