Du Bois and contain ephemera and clippings from a variety of both African American and mainstream newspapers. The clippings in these scrapbooks are primarily articles written by W.E.B. Du Bois. He writes about world politics, segregation, world history, the war in Manchuria, finance, the stock market, as well as criticism of American culture, Gandhi, Herbert Hoover, and the Christian church. Two recurring columns authored by Du Bois are \"The Wide World\" in <span class=\"title\">The National News</span> and \"Forum of Fact and Opinion\" in the <span class=\"title\">Pittsburgh Courier</span>. There are also several reviews of his books <span class=\"title\">Dark Princess</span>, <span class=\"title\">Black Folk: Then and Now</span>, and <span class=\"title\">Black Reconstruction</span>. Additional articles cover DuBois' resignation from the NAACP, his commencement speech at Howard University, his trip to study under the education system in Germany under Nazi rule in 1936, his shifting stance on segregation, celebrations for his 80th birthday, and his receipt of the Spingarn medal.</p>"}
