Kennedy envisioned the Bedford Stuyvesant Restoration Corporation project (BSRC) as \"an alliance of private business and community leaders, assisted by government, to develop the full physical and human potential of the Bedford Stuyvesant community.\" Kennedy had campaigned earlier with Judge Jones on the Democratic ticket and learned to appreciate his leadership and blunt honesty. He called upon him to lead this unprecedented effort at community renewal. The two men developed a strong working relationship, which lasted until Kennedy's death in 1968.</p>"}
