The organization was focused on introducing safer-sex practices, particularly condom use, to Black men who have sex with other men. In 2002, one of the center's safer-sex promotions became a source of media attention based on complaints from an ex-employee that led to the removal of BABAA's funding from the federal government for that year.</p>"}
