Founded in 1995, the parties were initially held in New York City and worked with local safer sex sponsors (ADODI, Gay Men of African Descent, People of Color in Crisis, Haitian Men's Health Initiative, among others) to hold demonstrations and distribute condoms, lube, and other safer sex items in order to raise awareness of safer sex practices. BLA-TINO parties were also later held in Washington DC; Atlanta, Georgia; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Dallas, Texas.</p>"}
