{"value"=>"<p>Nicholas Kelley married Augusta Maverick in 1909. The Maverick family traces its descent from Samuel Augustus Maverick, 1803-1870, the first of the Texas Mavericks, who moved to the territory in the 1830s and settled in San Antonio. Samuel was a rancher, land speculator and a signatory of the 1836 Texas Declaration of Independence from Mexico. Samuel Augustus' son, George Madison married Mary Elizabeth Vance of Vermont in 1872. The couple had six children: Mary Rowena, Lola, George Vance, Lucy Madison, Augusta Lewis and Lewis Adams. Lola Maverick Lloyd married William Bross Lloyd, son of the newspaperman and philanthropist Henry Demarest Lloyd in 1902. Lewis Adams Maverick was a professor of economics at Stanford University and a member of the Ford Peace Expedition.</p>"}
