Hughes was musical director for Sissle and Blake's <span class=\"title\">Shuffle Along</span> (1921) and Miller and Lyles's <span class=\"title\">Runnin' Wild</span> (1923). She appeared on television, conducted swing concerts at colleges, and toured Europe in U.S. Air Force shows after World War II.</p>"}
