{"value"=>"<p>Charles \"Honi\" Coles, a dancer, was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As a youngster, Coles studied with famed dancers Bill \"Bojangles\" Robinson and John W. Bubbles. He toured with the Miller Brothers, Lucky Seven Trio, and performed with numerous big band leaders including Cab Calloway, Count Basie, and Fats Waller. Coles and his longtime tap partner, Cholly Atkins, appeared in the Broadway show <span class=\"title\">Gentlemen Prefer Blondes</span> in 1949. He went on to gain solo success, and earned a Tony award for Best Actor in the musical <span class=\"title\">My One and Only</span> in 1983. He also appeared in the touring companies of <span class=\"title\">Bubbling Brown Sugar</span> and <span class=\"title\">My One and Only</span>. Films in which he appeared include <span class=\"title\">Dirty Dancing</span> and <span class=\"title\">The Cotton Club</span>.</p>"}
