The bulk of the correspondence concerns special events; national organizations are covered to a lesser extent. The correspondence is mainly in the form of cables, memorandum and reports from within CARE headquarters and from the Field Offices.</p> <p>Some of the Special Events for CARE includes the Stroh's American Boardsailing Association (SABA) held for CARE in 1985, and Thanks for Caring 1987. The latter file holds the promotional brochure. Another special event was the Atlanta Cares Week May 1-7, 1985, proclaimed by former Mayor Andrew Young to raise funds to feed starving Africans.</p> <p>Other files represented in this subseries includes the five year plans for the field offices of Columbus, Dallas, Denver, Florida, Kansas, Ohio, northeast, northwest, San Francisco, Southeast, and Washington, DC.</p> <p>The files contain cables, correspondence, country profiles, field office reports, memorandum, photographs, printed matter, and publicity material.</p>"}
