{"value"=>"<p>The subseries contains Elizabeth \"Betty\" Vreeland's letters to her in-laws written while her husband was attached to United States embassies in Geneva, 1952-1957, West Berlin, 1957-1960, Rabat (Morocco) 1963-1967, Paris, 1971-1978, and Rome, 1978-1985. Occasionally, Frecky would include his letters in the same envelope or add an addendum to the end of his wife's letters. The subject of the most importance was news about their children Nicholas and Alexander. Elizabeth's letters span almost thirty years, and read like a daybook written for her in-laws. Overall, the letters reflect the close relationship of Frecky and Betty with and Reed and Diana Vreeland.</p>"}
