By 1801 Port-au-Prince is renamed Port-Republicain and Hinche is no longer under Spanish control. Undated [probably between 1749 (the founding of Port-au-Prince) and 1791 (beginning of the revolutionary period).</p> <p>The descriptions are occasionally accompanied by remarks of military significance, especially regarding the ports. The documents are unsigned and it is not certain if they are the originals contemporary copies or later handwritten copies.</p>"}
