{"value"=>"<p>The Greater New York Branch of LNA was founded in January of 1924 by the Woman's Pro-League Council under the leadership of Florence Guertin Tuttle, who served as chairman of its executive board. Its purpose was to support the goals of the national organization. By working through congressional districts it sought to bring pressure upon congressmen to vote in favor of membership in the League of Nations and the World Court, and to persuade political parties to include commitment to these goals in their party platforms. It carried on fund-raising activities, sponsored dinners, luncheons, receptions, circularized women's clubs, clergymen and school teachers, and conducted model assemblies in the metropolitan area.</p>"}
