{"value"=>"<p>The small groups material is comprised of scores and parts for various ensembles, mostly octets, but also sextets, woodwinds with rhythm section, and small bands and combos with various other instrumentations. The octets are often some combination of two alto saxophones or altoniums; one tenor saxophone; a contrabass clarinet, baritone saxophone, or baritone horn; electric bass, drums, and one or two guitars; and a flugelhorn or trumpet soloist. Occasionally Maltby used vocals, flutes, trombones, pianos, organs, harpsichords, and percussion sections (marimba, xylophone, vibraphone, and bells). Al Muller wrote arrangements for several of the octet scores. Some pieces specify that they were created for recordings on RCA Camden Records or Muzak. Don Sebesky was the arranger for some of these scores.</p>"}
