{"value"=>"<p>Acknowledgements & Rejections File (Containers #364-398). This file is arranged into three parts. The first part (in Containers #364-386) consists of correspondence in the period 1986-1996 (arranged alphabetically within the year) of the executive director, Vincent McGee, and of the grants administrators with officials of organizations requesting funds for special projects and programs. The incoming letters give brief descriptions of the projects and programs; the outgoing letters indicate that the requests have been received, reviewed, and rejected.</p> <p>The second part (in Containers #387-394) consists of a chronological file of letters sent (February 1990-1995) by the executive director and the grants administrator, Ann Williams Gael, to officials of organizations acknowledging receipt of their proposals, and either requesting additional information regarding them or indicating their rejection. Included in the file are a few letters sent to grantees acknowledging receipt of interim reports or advising them of disbursements made in their behalf.</p> <p>The third part, (Containers #395-398) entitled New York Times Articles Responses, consists of correspondence of the executive director, Vincent McGee, rejecting requests for financial aid from organizations and from private persons who responded to an article about the Aaron Diamond Foundation published in the New York Times on March 24, 1994. The requests were from persons and organization in the United States and abroad especially in Europe, Africa, and India. Included are numerous requests from private persons in Poland. Many of the incoming letters are in Polish and French. Some of the requests from organizations contain detailed proposals of projects and programs.</p>"}
