Roberts, bought property in New Jersey on the Hudson River shore near the shortest river crossing to New York City. In a complicated deal involving several railroads, the property near Hoboken was sold to the Delaware Lackawanna & Western Railroad (see above). Taylor played a central role in the negotiations which led to the expansion of the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad and the acquisition of the terminal site.</p>"}
