The papers relating to ARM (1977 to 1985) consist of Lader's correspondence as president with members of the Board and others and collateral papers, including legal papers relating to the suit brought by ARM in federal court against the National Conference of Catholic Bishops and the United States Catholic Conference challenging the tax exempt status of the Roman Catholic Church. The writings consist of preliminary and final drafts, galleys, and page proofs of Lader's book <span class=\"title\">The Bold Brahmins</span> (N. Y., E. P. Dutton, 1961); collateral correspondence relating to the book manuscript and notes; and a few scripts of miscellaneous articles by Lader on abortion and birth control. The printed matter consists of flyers, brochures, reports, circulars, newsletters, and other printed and near-printed ephemera (bulk circa 1970s) relating to abortion, birth control, family planning, and the medical and health care needs of women. The papers relating to NARAL (1970 to 1975) include Lader's correspondence as chairman of the Board of Directors, minutes of meetings of the Board, internal memoranda, and publicity materials including circular letters, flyers, and other printed and near-printed ephemera issued by NARAL to its members.</p>"}
