Included are extensive records including correspondence, minutes, memoranda, notes, speeches, reports, and press releases relating to the Second International Congress of Linguists held at Geneva, Switzerland (August -September 1931); to its predecessor, Meeting of Linguistic Research, also held at Geneva (March -April 1930); to the Third International Congress of Linguists held at Rome (September 1933); and to the Fifth International Congress of Linguists held at Brussels (August -September 1939). Included also are extensive records (1930s) of meetings at Brussels, Copenhagen, the Hague, and Paris of IALA's Committee on Agreement which sought to reach a consensus for a base language on which to construct an auxiliary language. There are also records of annual meetings of IALA's board of directors and its executive committee; records of meetings relating to Esperanto and to Rotary International; and papers relating to informal dinners, teas and luncheons arranged by Mrs. Alice Vanderbilt Morris.
