The series includes photographs of marches and demonstrations, the AIDS Quilt, the Stonewall Inn around the time of the 1969 riots, and portraits.</p> <p>The McDarrah photographs of marches and demonstrations are quite extensive. Demonstrations range from a photograph of the Mattachine Society's \"sip -in\" at Julius' bar in the 1960s, to Act Up demonstrations in the 1980s. Marches depicted range from the first gay pride march in New York City to the 1993 March on Washington.</p> <p>The McDarrah series also includes several portraits of activists, politicians, writers and celebrities. Included are portraits of Tennessee Williams, Allen Ginsberg, Truman Capote, Joan Nestle, Jill Johnston, Jewelle Gomez and Mathilde Krim.</p>"}
