The letters pertain mostly to family matters, such as finances, housing, the children, travel arrangements, and their marriage and its problems because of Hale's infidelities. Beatrice Forbes-Robertson Hale also discussed the books she was writing and her support for her husband's aspirations to become a poet and his desire to quit working as a lawyer.
