The poem was published in H. L. Hunt's Literary Examiner, no. 12, 20 Sep 1823; it was unsigned, but dated 4 Aug 1823. Here it is copied on the front free endpaper of Shelley's 1824 Posthumous Poems (Pforzheimer copy 5). A note below the poem reads: \"Literary Examiner. I think CCC.\" The hand is tentatively identified as that of Mary Cowden Clarke based on similarities with verifiable examples of her handwriting held by the Pforzheimer Collection.</p><p>· Autograph note signed on a drawing by Queen Victoria : Sep 1838 : (MISC 1328) : attesting that the drawing was given to Mary Cowden Clarke by \"Mr. Chambers, who received it from M.
